Tutoring Philosophy
At Mrs. A’s Tutoring, our purpose is to help every student grow in confidence, skill, and independence—no matter their starting point. With over a decade of experience working with a diverse population of students, including those with varying levels of special needs, we provide personalized support in reading, foundational math skills, organization, and test-taking strategies tailored to each learner. We use research-based approaches grounded in Orton-Gillingham principles and the Science of Reading to build strong, lasting foundations, especially for students who need targeted support. We believe that when students are equipped with the right tools and encouragement, they don’t just improve academically—they begin to truly thrive.
Our approach
We work with your child to help them learn the content, overcoming any obstacles, and meeting them where they are. Developing a relationship with the child, to provide a safe space to learn, and to make mistakes along the way. In this way, the child is free to do their best, and receive the support to reach their personalized goals.

Online or in-person, this is designated for individualized sessions. Typically, meetings are weekly or bi-weekly.

Small group sessions are available in specific situations. When appropriate, each student is engaged in the lesson at all times, while sharing the tutoring service and expense when learning a shared topic.

NCSEAA ESA+
